Kenyatta University on Friday 6th November 2015 won three top awards at the Champions of Governance Awards Gala night at the Hotel Intercontinental. Prof.Olive Mugenda, the Vice-Chancellor, won the top CEO of the Year Award for her exemplary leadership which has not only transformed the institution into a centreof excellence but has also enhanced access to higher education in the region.
Secondly, the University won an award for being the best education institution in the country. The institution was described as an environment with world-classinfrastructure suitable for the delivery of high quality education, research and innovation.
Thirdly, the University won an award for being ranked the second runners up among 44 organizations in the country. Reading the citations for the three awards, the jury singled out Kenyatta University’s risen profile in the last several years that set it apart as leading institution of higher learning. Speaking after the event, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Chancellor-Dr. Benson Wairegi, the University Council, Management Board, Senate, Staff, students and the entire KU community for supporting her in implementing the University’s Strategic and Vision Plan.
