Dr. Alice A. Olewe- Nyunya is a Lecturer with over 45 years experience , currently PhD in Special Needs Education at Kenyatta University. She also holds a M.Ed. Special Education from the South Carolina State College Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA, a M.Ed.Business Education from South Carolina State College Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA, and a  B.Sc. ( Hons) Business Administration South Carolina State College, Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA.

Her experience as a lecturer was gained as an Instructor Kiswahili Linguistics Department, University of North Carolina Chapel  Hill, North Carolina USA from 1975 to1976, as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Special Education, Department of Habilitative Sciences from 1982 to 1984; as an Assistant Lecturer University of Calabar, Department of General Studies, Calabar Nigeria from  1984 to 1986; Lecturer, Department of Mentally Handicapped, Kenya Institute of Special Education from 1986 to1990; Lecturer, Department of Educational Psychology, Maseno University from 1991to 2002; and currently at Kenyatta University, Nairobi where she has served from 2002 to date.
