Department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Pre-clinical Services


INTRODUCTION:

The department was established in 2016 when the new school of nursing was formed after the approval by the senate. The department coordinates the training of nurses in medical surgical nursing, nursing leadership and management, nursing education and pre-clinical sciences. It is headed by a chairman and has one section head for preclinical sciences

VISION STATEMENT

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Pre-clinical sciences aspires to develop professional nurses who emulate a culture of evidence based nursing practice, transformative nursing leadership, research and community service.The department will be recognized for training empowered nursing professionals who lead the dynamic healthcare delivery system nationally, regionally and globally.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Department of Medical Surgical and Pre- clinical Sciences is strongly committed to excellence in classroom and clinical teaching and in preparing nursing graduates to lead and transform nursing care in a rapidly changing, diverse and complex healthcare environment. The committed team of faculty and other staff will endeavor to achieve this through academic excellence,innovative nursing research, evidence based clinical practice, and community service

  • To train nursing graduates who have a scientific base in clinical science.
