Kenyatta University shines at Kenya Music Festival 2024, clinching the Best Overall Award

Kenyatta University (KU) continues to set the standard for excellence in music and the arts, winning the prestigious Best Overall Award at the Kenya Music Festival 2024. This remarkable achievement marks the 15th time that KU has claimed this top honor, underscoring the university's unwavering dedication to nurturing talent and fostering creativity.

KU's performance this year was nothing short of outstanding, with entries excelling across a wide range of categories. Out of 44 entries, KU secured the top spot in 27 categories and claimed the second position in 13 others, affirming its dominance in the competition. The university's entries spanned diverse genres and compositions, reflecting the richness of its musical repertoire and the depth of its students' skills.

The festival culminated in a grand awards ceremony where Prof. Waceke Wanjohi, Ag. Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Duncan Miano Wambugu, Chairperson of the Department of Music and Dance; Dr. Isaiah Oyugi, Lecturer in the Department of Music and Dance; and the members of the KU Students Choir proudly received the winner's trophy from His Excellency the President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto. This accolade not only celebrates KU's success but also highlights the collective effort and dedication of the university's students, faculty, and leadership.
