School of Virtual and Open Learning seeks to provide learning opportunities to students who are unable to take up full-time on-campus programmes.

The School provides a wide range of quality programmes at Diploma, Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels through Open and Distance Learning modes, using blended learning that combines digital instruction with live tutorials in the following Regional Centres: Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Garissa, Kisumu, Kakamega, Embu, Nyeri and Marsabit.

The Kenyatta University School of Virtual and Open Learning is the youngest of the fifteen schools in the University having been established from the former Open Distance and e-Learning Institute.
The School is positioning itself to became a centre of excellence and the preferred School of choice in promoting educational opportunity by providing quality higher education, training and professional development to meet the learning needs of our many constituencies, through e-Learning grounded in the use of modern technologies.

The School of Security, Diplomacy and Peace Studies was established in late 2015 to steer the implementation of academic programmes in the areas of security, diplomacy and peace

The School houses all programmes offered to such organizations/agencies in the security sector as the Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service incorporating the Kenya Police Service, The Administration Police Service and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI). It is also the chief trainer for the Kenya Prisons Service. The School has three departments under it namely:

• Department of Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies
• Department of Security and Correction Science
• Department of Diplomacy and International Relations

This was during the UN International Holocaust Remembrance Day to remember over 6M Jews who were slaughtered during the second world and global victims of genocide around the world. The day January 27 marked the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, which was the largest Nazi death camp. The event was held at the Kenyatta University Conference Center.

 The annual Kenyatta University Career Week 2017 will be held from January 28th to 3rd February 2017 at the University’s main campus.

The theme for this year Career Week is: “Enhancing entrepreneurship and employability skills for career development”
It is expected to be better and bigger than ever witnessed. A big extravaganza of corporate exhibitions is expected from top companies from not only Kenya but from the international market as well.
